Here is another example of an engaging practice that, from a professional experience, fosters students’ SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT. By school engagement we mean students’ observable participation in school activities, sense of belonging to classmates and teachers, and valuing success in school-related goals.

Target group: Group-centered

Main subjects involved: Physical Education

ICT involvement:  no

Description of the practice: We participate in tournaments organized in the region with other schools

Accessible to any student: yes

Meaningful participation for every student: yes

Why? The necessary methodological adaptations are made so that any student can take part in the activity.

Support to the practice: yes, From support teachers if necessary and from the rugby and athletics organization.

Does this practice promote students observable participation in school related activities? Yes, in future P.E. practices

Does the practice promote students sense of belonging to classmates, teachers and school? Yes, They represent the highschool so this makes the bond with the classmates, team and school stronger.

Does the practice promote students giving value to success in school-related goals? Yes, Getting to know sports that are not practiced as much in the region and maybe enhances the desire to do these sports, get to know the environment, improve the healthy lifestyle in leisure time.
