Here is another example of an engaging practice that, from a professional experience, fosters students’ SCHOOL ENGAGEMENT. By school engagement we mean students’ observable participation in school activities, sense of belonging to classmates and teachers, and valuing success in school-related goals.

Description of the practice: The kids choose a topic and craft a flip book. The students need 4-6 sheets of paper and glue it together so it looks like a fan. According to their topic they can choose headlines to the most meaningful chapters and now they can start with their research. They write everything down on their papers, or draw pictures, scales or sketchnotes – everything is allowed as long as they can present their topic with the help of the flipbook.
